What is the goal of NEP?

The goal of the Powell County Nutrition Education Program (NEP) is to educate limited resource families with young children and SNAP eligible individuals to plan nutritious meals on a limited budget, acquire safe food handling practices, improve food preparation skills and change behavior necessary to have a healthy lifestyle.

Nutrition education programs for both adults and youth are offered in a variety of locations throughout the county. For more information on SNAP and NEP programs, please contact April Tipton, at the Extension office at (606) 663-6405.
